Feb 1, 2009	Swim Coach Part Time- Carteret Currents, a year round USA Swim Team, is seeking a P/T age group coach for our Morehead and Cape Carteret practice sites. Position would initially be 5-15 hours/week with the possibility of additional hours in the future.
Oct 27, 2008	Director of Competitive Swimming and Head Coach The Chapel Hill – Carrboro YMCA in Chapel Hill, NC is accepting applications for the position of Head Coach and Director of Competitive Swimming. We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced coach (ASCA Level 3 or higher desired) with great leadership skills, a vision to build a multi-site program, and the ability to work according to the values of the YMCA. We are seeking a “Director-Minded” individual who not only can coach the National level swimmers, but who can also lead and direct the growth and operation of the overall program. Ability to manage a multi-site program as well as communicate with YMCA staff, coaching staff, parents, and swimmers will be vital for this position. The applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day team operations including setting seasonal competition schedules, writing and implementing workouts, compiling and submitting meet entries, handling administrative and managerial duties, and attending YMCA staff. In addition, the Director of Competitive Swimming will assume complete responsibility for management, hiring, and supervision of the coaching staff. CHY is a 150 member USA / YMCA Swimming Team. We are a YMCA-run, parent-supported program, and have a long tradition of producing outstanding swimmers and individuals. CHY hosts a minimum of three invitational meets during the year. The Head Coach and Director of Competitive Swimming is supported by a full-time Age Group Coach and 4-5 part-time assistant coaches as well as an encouraging executive director, and a supportive Parent Support Group, and a parent volunteer base. The Director of Competitive Swimming will report directly to a Senior Program Director. Location: The Triangle area of North Carolina is frequently listed as one of the most desirable places to live in the country. Beaches are only a 2 hour drive and the mountains 4 hours away. Surrounded by numerous colleges and universities, the area is an attractive area in terms of education, sports, and a wonderful lifestyle. A competitive salary package will be offered to the candidate, along with full medical benefits and retirement. Travel expenses, meet mileage, education, paid vacation, and professional memberships and certifications will also be paid. We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible.
